The 1st Midsummer Night Run is a night-time running festival in the Lakeside Park in Balatonszárszó, held on Midsummer’s Eve. Participants can choose from several distances, including a half marathon, shorter races, and an evening walk along the shore of Lake Balaton. The event celebrates the start of the summer season and welcomes families and community sports enthusiasts as well as runners. The race is part of the Ötpróba program, which offers the opportunity to collect points for valuable rewards.

Race number collection starts at 10:00 in Lakeside Park. Relay handovers take place at the finish arch by passing on the chip-equipped race number; using a race number belt is recommended. The entry fee includes refreshments (dextrose tablets, biscuits, salted pretzels, mineral water, squash, and gummy sweets). Balatonszárszó residents receive a 30% discount, and a season discount is also available based on previous participation. A technical T-shirt can be purchased separately (8,500 HUF). The event supports the Ötpróba program and offers discounts for local participants and season pass holders, as well as various running options and prizes.
